Overview

OK, so while we can't hide our enthusiasm over the town of Lagos, we must admit that the number and variety of day-trips available are truly endless. There is something to suit your every interest. Our favourite excursions will give you a sampling of the sights across the regions of the Algarve and of Lisboa. From your Lagos home-base, each of these short expeditions can be comfortably completed within a day, and will heighten your love for the Algarve and for Portugal.

Major Tip: If you choose to take the EN125 (2-lane) highway, avoid Lagoa during morning and afternoon rush hour. Traffic moving through Lagoa can get so backed up. This may add 30-60 minutes to any trip where you really must go through Lagoa. If you take the A22 highway (4-lane), you bypass Lagoa and avoid the bottleneck.
